UC Davis employees are offered career counseling with a tailored approach to each individual.

To start receiving structured career support, make an appointment with a certified career counselor.

  • Individual development plan (IDP) assistance
  • Job search coaching
  • Application materials review
  • Resume writing assistance
  • Interview coaching
  • Strategies to manage career stage transitions (early, mid, late career/retirement)

About Our Counselor

Andrea Weiss
Andrea Weiss, M.S, N.C.C., M.C.C., National Certified Counselor and Master Career Counselor, has over 20 years of experience in career counseling, executive recruitment, and training.

As a career counselor, she has helped hundreds of individuals by providing personalized confidential career counseling services to identify and pursue satisfying careers, manage successful career transitions and take advantage of new opportunities. In addition, she is an expert in all phases of the recruitment process, having conducted a wide range of executive recruitments for public, nonprofit, and higher education clients. Andrea’s experience also includes designing and delivering employee development workshops on a variety of career and personal growth topics; she is a Master Myers-Briggs Practitioner and Workshop Facilitator.

Currently, Andrea also provides one-on-one career counseling and coaching to UC Davis staff through Learning and Development. Andrea earned a master’s degree in career counseling from CSU Sacramento and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from UC Davis. She is a graduate of The Management Center’s Packard Foundation Nonprofit Executive Search Institute and has served on the board of the Child Abuse Prevention Center.
