This class will provide an introduction to the services provided by the Office of Research – Sponsored Programs (OR/SPO), giving you a comprehensive look at the Pre-Award, Award, and Post-award functions at SPO.

Course Description

This overview of the Sponsored Programs Office is designed to empower participants with key information and best practices to successfully navigate campus procedures for submission of proposals and awards. You will receive general information regarding University of California and UC Davis policies as well as OR/SPO practices which must be adhered to. We hope to give you the tools to assist with determining which office will process the various documents and which determine whether an award is a gift or grant. This course will be relevant for those new to the sponsored projects enterprise, and in light of recent changes, may also be valuable to more experienced personnel. Please note, this class has combined the Sponsored Programs Essentials 1 & 2 into one class.
