Pandemic Parenting Support Group

As the pandemic continues and flexibility continues to be required, some parents are finding comfort in discussing the challenges with others. As younger children cannot yet receive the vaccine and schools are needing parents to be increasingly flexible there are many unknowns with no clear answers. The UC Davis Health ASAP team would like to continue to provide a safe space for parents with any age children to come together and support each other. My name is Perynn D’Alba and I am a Post-Doctoral Fellow with a degree in Clinical Psychology. I appreciate the opportunity to assist UC Davis employees with children to come together and navigate these unique times.

Previously this group discussed zoom learning, COVID safe outdoor activities in the area for younger children, and teen socializing during quarantine among many other topics. Parents had children ranging from infants to seniors in high school, all with the common goal of processing the chaotic and inconsistent times we are in. I look forward to meeting you!

This group provides a safe space for people to share experiences of loss and get support and coping tools to help them navigate the unique process of grief.
