Our dedicated UC Davis employees are driving change worldwide, and the kindness we extend to one another is a big reason for our achievements. 

This year, I know you’re faced with donating to many worthy causes, but hope you’ll join me in supplementing your giving with at least a small donation to the Staff Emergency Fund – a fund designed to help a fellow colleague experiencing a difficult time in life. The Staff Emergency Fund shows that teamwork at UC Davis extends from the front lines to the home front by providing critical financial assistance to employees facing personal hardships or struggling to cover basic necessities.

Your support could be life-changing for a colleague facing housing insecurity, struggling to reach medical appointments, or coping with a large unexpected expense.

In my nearly two years at UC Davis, I’ve come to both admire and cherish this community.  It’s reassuring to know that there’s a security blanket in place for colleagues who are making a difference each day advancing the mission of UC Davis – this program gives us a chance to be there for them when they need a little help. I’ll be giving and hope you will too! 

Your contribution to the Staff Emergency Fund directly aids those who stand by your side every day, enabling them to bring their best to their work. The Staff Emergency Fund has disbursed over $350,000 in aid to staff members across UC Davis since its launch in 2020, yet the demand for emergency financial support continues to outpace our resources.

A little bit from everyone adds up to meaningful support for colleagues in need, who sometimes fall behind on rent, utility bills, car payments, or who experience a large unexpected expense due to the loss of a family member, or other unforeseen life circumstances.

Please consider giving this Give Day by taking two simple actions:

1. Donate – before April 20 - to the Davis Campus Staff Emergency Fund or the UC Davis Health Staff Emergency Fund.
2. Share the Staff Emergency Funds with your network—friends, colleagues, family, and anyone who appreciates the invaluable contributions of UC Davis staff. Use our marketing tools to spread the word about the Staff Emergency Fund, including text, social media images, signature images, and Zoom backgrounds.

Whether your passion lies in the arts, diversity, equity and inclusion, academic endeavors, athletics, or our world-class health system, every contribution, regardless of size, is pivotal in propelling us toward greater success.
