Thank You for Participating in This Year’s Employee Experience Survey!

Human Resources would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took part in the 2025 Employee Experience Survey, which closed yesterday.

We also express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped spread the word and reminded their colleagues of the importance of sharing their voice.

You made a difference.

From the beginning, we believed this was the right time to ask how our employees are doing—even with, or maybe especially because of, all the disruption and uncertainty happening around us. Things have felt very heavy lately, but an organization’s true character is often reflected during challenging times.

You Showed Up

Participation was incredibly strong. In fact, response rates this year were higher—sometimes significantly—than what we saw during the Staff Experience Survey in 2022 on the Davis campus and the Community Feedback Survey at UC Davis Health in 2023.

While we haven’t officially hit our overall goal of 66% just yet, we are still calculating final results and appear to be very close.

The numbers you see now are still preliminary. Later this week, after we complete the final data clean-up—removing those who were on leave, no longer with the university, or otherwise ineligible during the survey window—we’ll post the official response rate.

Preliminary Response Rates

We still expect to see a small bump that will put us even closer to our goal.

  • Overall Response: 62% or 14,548 surveys completed (+2,009 submissions from prior surveys)

  • UC Davis Health Overall: 60% (+8% from 2023)

    • Medical Providers: 40% (same as 2023)

    • Employees and Nurses: 64% (+10% from 2023)

  • Davis campus: 65% (+1% from 2022)

Review Employee Experience Survey response

Even if we don’t hit that ambitious response goal, it’s clear this community showed up to share their experiences and help improve our workplace going forward.

Over 14,500 of you shared your voices—and encouraged others to do the same. That’s what makes this effort meaningful.

Now comes the next phase and our responsibility to honor what you’ve shared—by taking meaningful action. Results will be released in August 2025, and when they are, we’ll be ready. We’ll post high-level findings on our website and support teams in having honest, helpful conversations about what they see. We’ve also prepared tools and resources to help employees and leaders turn feedback into real, visible and impactful action.

Again, thank you sincerely for sharing your experience. It matters deeply, we’re listening, and we’re ready to act. Warm wishes to all of you and regardless of your job or how you contribute to the mission of UC Davis, thank you for choosing a career here and for being a valuable member of our team!

With deep gratitude and great admiration for the work happening every day across UC Davis and UC Davis Health.

Tammy Kenber

Chief Human Resources Officer
