Stephanie Overholt - SSO HR Generalist/TES 

Stephanie returned to the SSO on July 31st and is very happy to be back with her HR Generalist team and working with her clients.  Stephanie's background is in HR for the last 25 years, a field she enjoys working in very much.  Says Stephanie, "It is very satisfying to assist a person who is starting a new job or returning to a position at the University."  Her experience is vast, from working at a Stainless-Steel manufacturer, a semi-conductor manufacturing plant, the UCD Med Center, and recently at the SSO.  Stephanie has worked with both student and staff hires and looks forward to continuing her work here at UC Davis. Aside from grand children, her hobbies include crafting and reading. She loves to make wreaths, shirts, tumblers, and other crafts, and especially loves to decorate for the holidays.

Nadia Gamez - SSO Leaves Specialist

In June we welcomed back Nadia Gamez to the campus Leaves team. Nadia had been working as a Leaves Specialist for the SSO for three and a half years and left to pursue a position with the City of Sacramento to work in personnel. "What I like about my job is is helping employees navigate their leaves. It can be an overwhelming process that I like to simplify for them." In her free time, Nadia enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, and  particularly hiking, having traversed the famed Glacier Point at Yosemite.

Gwenner Gail Miller – HR Generalist, Health Records

Gwenner started her career in 2004 at UC Santa Barbara, and worked in Student Affairs for 8 years. She then transferred to UC Davis Health in the Office of Medical Education, and worked in financial aid as a Financial Aid Officer for 10 years. This led to a position with UC Davis AUSS-C as an Academic HR Analyst for Hart Interdisciplinary Programs. In August 2023 she joined UC Davis Health as a HR Generalist, and is very excited to be here.  For fun, she enjoys hiking, power walking, and spending time with friends and family!

Diane Garcia – HR Generalist, Health Records/TES

Diane joined the Data Integrity Unit at UCD Health Records in early August. This is her third assignment in the last 6 years as a TES employee. Diane's prior two assignments were also for UCDH HR. Says Diane, "it is nice to come back to the people I already know."  She has been working on her BA in Psychology between assignments. Prior to UCDH, Diane worked for many years for The Sacramento Bee. She loves to drive on the open road and has visited all the states on the West Coast and Southwest.

Melbe Ponds Johnson – HR Generalist, Health Records/TES

Melbe's work history has, collectively, involved people-focused roles in administrative and analytical support roles.  She recently joined HRID as a HR Generalist II (TES floater,) my first UC Davis experience.  Some of her past work experience includes ten years within public service agency, a systems tester for statewide human services system, and an accessibility role as a compliance champion with UC San Francisco.  Melbe is excited to be working with her new employer, leadership, and fellow team members. Her hobbies include taking personal development courses, doing self-care activities, and appreciating nature’s wonders.

Pam Solano -  LOA Coordinator, Health LOA Team  

Pam joined the Human Resources team in mid-July. She has been with UC Davis for 18 years. She started in the Continuing Medical Education (CME) department as an Admin Assistant and soon promoted to Financial Analyst/Business Operations. Pam has worked in several other departments such as Payroll, EVS (Project Policy Analyst) and at the Retiree Center on Davis campus. In her free time, Pam enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and watching movies.
